The Biomedical Simulation Centre of the Coimbra University Hospitals (HUC) is an innovative strategic organization. It has a modern and comprehensive approach to the development of healthcare training, with special emphasis on the critical areas of anaesthesiology, A&E, clinical and surgical emergency and intensive care.
We pledge to the institutions and organizations that have so generously funded this project that we will pursue a culture of innovation, adopting exacting standards that will make this Centre a national reference for training in critical healthcare through medical simulation.
We have every confidence in the ability of our staff and instructors, who have been trained in internationally renowned schools, and believe in the high level of knowledge that they will make use of in the training of those who come to us, and place their trust in us.
We want to play our part in further groundbreaking initiatives in health education and in areas where major technological and scientific development is taking place. We welcome the chance to form constructive interdisciplinary partnerships in this respect, in domestic and international terms.
We want the CSB to help to improve the safety of our patients and benefit the wider application of good practice in healthcare.
We want to serve our Hospital and our country, with hard work, enthusiasm and skill. I feel very proud to be at the head of a team of colleagues of the very highest scientific standing. It is at the same time a great honour and a huge responsibility. A responsibility for them and also for that great institution, the Coimbra University Hospitals (HUC).
